The Indian Information Technology (IT) industry has criticised the move by Ohio state in the US to ban outsourcing. In a major blow for Indian IT companies that is likely to have far reaching implications, the US state of Ohio banned outsourcing of government IT and back-office projects to offshore locations such as India. This has also raised fears of similar moves by other American states. TCS, which is India's largest software firm, is the only Indian company to operate out of Ohio.

Government on Tuesday (September 7) dropped plans for a fresh Ordinance on the fate of properties left behind by those who went to Pakistan during partition and decided to bring a new bill in the next session of Parliament. The Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi, noted that there was no urgency to bring an ordinance on Enemy Property to replace the one that has expired with the completion of the Monsoon session of Parliament on August 31.

It's been 48 days since the prime suspect in the 'whistleblower' Amit Jethwa muder case, Gujarat BJP MP Dinu Solanki, has gone missing. Dinu Solanki has been on the run since the murder. In a related development, Shiva, the nephew of Junagarh BJP MP Dinu Solanki, was arrested while boarding a flight to Mumbai. He is said to have orchestrated the murder of Jethwa at the behest of Dinu Solanki.
